 My dad bought a new electric forklift for our warehouses. We grow potatoes, and we house them in large potato bins. We found a place where you could get used forklift batteries at a very reasonable price. Batteries seem to be the only expense for this equipment, virtually it is maintenance free. We like to keep an extra number of batteries for a quick change out if we need to. Most generally, a charge is good for the amount of work we do. But when you are processing potatoes to ship during our busy season, we have learned that  having a backup is just good business. It costs a little more but used makes it worth it.
