One of the basic implements in teaching was the black board and chalk. The teacher was seen as delivering knowledge with the help of these structurally simple implements. As the numbers involved ballooned, it became physically impossible to teach every one using this technology. Thus the system of distance schooling was involved. When computers became popular the system changed characteristics and became known as Online Studies. In online studies the black board has been replaced by the computer screen. It also provided the teacher to prepare online studies at one place and the student to read it in another place. Here the classes can also be made inter active.
