Root Biomechanics the most Common Biomechanics
There are a lot of theories that Podiatrists use to treat patients with foot supports. In the deficiency of evidence in any discipline means that there will be an increasing growth in the number of theories to explain what is going on. The simple fact is that clinical practice is driven by theory, even though there a lot who do not like this state of affairs. There are numbers of podiatric biomechanics but the most common are root biomechanics, sagittal plane facilitation theory and the tissue stress theory. All of them have their supports and detractors. But, at the end of the day, they are all useful to inform the clinical practice of foot supports. In root biomechanics there will be more research needed and more is being done.
