The stress relief of camping; all in your work week!
I am very fond of camping. Every year I plan a trip, even if I don’t have the time off of work to go, it’s relaxing to just plan it. Pick out a hammock from ebay I would like to get, pick one of my tents from my garage, a location, anything. It’s a good form of stress relief. Even if I haven’t had a vacation for three years in a row, am up to my eyeballs in overtime, and am trying to teach my kids algebra- just the act of planning melts the tension off of my shoulders like a good massage. Some years, I incorporate my favorite hobby into my daily in-and-out life. I’ll pitch my tent on my porch with the kids, take pictures of birds in my yard, cook shish-kabobs over my gas range top. I’ll cook hot dogs and baked beans, try out a few salmon or trout recipes, put my dinner on a paper plate, and eat in my back yard. It just goes to show that if you can’t find time for your passion in life, you can always make time.
