You never know when you might need some of those documents. There are a few documents out there that people often take for granted. Copies of birth certificates social security cards, and divorce records, along with marriage certificates. I always tell my clients to keep a copy of each one of these on file, just in case you need to use them and can’t find one of them. Having backups also gives you great insurance in case of a fire, or flood. Of course we never wish this on anyone, but the reality is that these kind of things happen.
