Direct Connections
Why is a crossover patch cable used in networking? It allows a computer to be connected directly to another computer without the need of a router or hub. This is very useful, as it can buy a person time until he or she can get the router or hub. Of course it is a temporary solution, but it works for the time needed. Sometimes directly connecting two or more computers together will be needed.
